I've been taking pictures since I was a child. At Lowell High School in San Francisco I became the photo editor of the school newspaper and learned darkroom skills. A particularly motivated photo teacher introduced a small group of students to shooting and processing color slide film and I was instantly hooked. Also in high school I became active in outdoor recreation, and I soon combined my two new loves into color images of the natural world and our experiences in it.
